Temple Football Recruiting: Owls Land TE Jameson McShea

Per ESPN's recruiting blog, the Temple Owls have landed three star TE Jameson McShea from Cotuit, Massachusetts. He is the first major signing for Sean McGowan, who Temple coach Steve Addazio recruited while he was a defensive coordinator at New Hampshire. McGowan had been recruiting McShea prior to his move to Temple.

McShea said the recruitment of McGowan was a big part of what brought him to Temple, but also that he wanted to go to school in a city.

"The primary reason I got recruited by Temple was Sean, but the school speaks for itself," McShea said. "When he went to Temple no one was really recruiting the New England/Northeast area. I kept in touch with him.

"I got invited to their camp and when I went down there I loved it. Coach Addazio told me to call him as soon as I landed at Logan [Logan International Airport). It all happened very quickly."

The 6-4, 236 pounder had offers from New Hampshire and Elon, and was under consideration by Boston College, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Northwestern.
