Temple Vs. Maryland: Owls Host Terrapins At The Palestra

The Temple Owls will host the Maryland Terrapins at the Palestra in a non-conference showdown between two 12 win teams.

The 12-5 Temple Owls will take a break from Atlantic 10 Conference play on Saturday to host the 12-5 Maryland Terrapins in a non-conference showdown. The game will be played at the Cathedral of College Basketball, the historic Palestra arena. The Owls normally play their home games in the Liacouras Center, but occasionally host games in arenas around the area – their upset of the third-ranked Duke Blue Devils came at the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Owls are coming off a 76-70 conference win over the La Salle Explorers and have won nine of their last 12 contests. The Terrapins are coming off a road loss against the Florida State Seminoles and have lost two of their last four after reeling off seven consecutive wins in December and early January.

Sophomore guard, Terrell Stoglin, leads the Terrapins in scoring at 21.2 per game and ranks fifth in the entire nation. The Owls will have to slow Stoglin down to have a chance against Maryland.
