The Temple Owls fell to 10-4 and lost their first conference game today as they fell to Atlantic 10 counterpart, the Dayton Flyers, by a final score of 87-77. The game was tied at halftime, but Dayton scored an impressive 56 points in the second half to take the lead and win the game.
The Owls got a game-high 28 points from Khalif Wyatt and double digit scoring from both Juan Fernandez and Ramone Moore as well. They also hit 11 threes and forced 16 turnovers – normally a recipe for success. Both teams made 29 of 62 shots from the floor and both teams made 10+ threes. The big difference in the game was the free throw differential, along with the rebound battle. Dayton made 11 more free throws and grabbed 14 more rebounds. That's the ball game right there.
Temple's next game is at St. Louis.
