Looking to extend their undefeated start to the 2012 season, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will pay a visit to the Temple Owls on Sunday in a showdown of two schools still undefeated in Big East play.
In their first season returning to the Big East Conference, the Owls have already collected two conference victories — against the South Florida Bulls and Connecticut Huskies. In their overtime victory over the Huskies last weekend, running back Montel Harris was among the stars, rushing for 142 yards and a key touchdown.
Rutgers, meanwhile, was the highest-ranked Big East team in the first BCS rankings, released last Sunday. The Scarlet Knights, at No. 15, landed just ahead of the Louisville Cardinals, which bowed at No. 16.
The Scarlet Knights have raced out to a 6-0 record overall to go with their three victories in conference play while led by quarterback Gary Nova, who has posted 1,271 yards passing and 11 touchdowns.
Game time, TV channel: 12 p.m. ET, Big East Network
Point spread: Rutgers is favored by 5.5 on the road.
