Temple vs. Rutgers final score: Owls fall to No. 15 Scarlet Knights, 35-10

Rutgers improved to 7-0 on the season, after defeating the Temple Owls, 35-10.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (7-0, 4-0) avoided an upset on Saturday, scoring 35 unanswered points, en route to a 35-10 win over the Temple Owls (3-3, 2-1).

Temple entered halftime with a 10-0 lead over Rutgers, but the Owls were unable to stop Rutgers' offensive onslaught in the second half.

Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova finished the game 17-of-27 passing for 232 yards. Nova threw four touchdown passes against just one interception. Three of Nova's four touchdowns came in the third quarter.

Jawan Jamison, Timothy Wright, Mark Harrison and D.C. Jefferson all caught touchdown passes for Rutgers. Jamison finished the game with 20 carries for 114 yards, and also added five receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Rutgers' defense held Temple to just 191 yards of total offense. Temple quarterback Chris Coyer finished the day just 7-of-14 passing, for 65 yards. Coyer added a touchdown pass and an interception.

Rutgers' run defense also held Temple in check. As a team, Temple ran the ball 42 times for just 119 yards -- good for an average of 2.8 yards per carry.

Rankings Ramifications: Rutgers' win guarantees the Scarlet Knights will not fall in the rankings, and they could move up if teams ahead of them lose.

But Did They Cover? Rutgers entered the game as four point favorites, and covered the spread with ease.
