Three Temple Owls will have a chance to impress NFL talent evaluators on March 16 when the school hosts its Pro Day, the NFL announced on Monday.

Running back Bernard Pierce, tight end Evan Rodriguez and linebacker Tahir Whitehead will all work out in front of NFL scouts and front office decision-makers at the school's Pro Day. Not as highly-attended as the NFL Draft Combine, Pro Day's nonetheless give prospects another opportunity to work their way up the draft board.

Pierce declared for the draft after rushing for 1,481 yards and 27 touchdowns during his junior season. Currently ranked as the No. 3 running back prospect by Mocking The Draft, Pierce is viewed by most as a mid-round prospect.

The National Football Post said he might be better suited as a No. 2 back than a featured option.

Possesses good size, natural feel inside and some good cut back ability. Isn't real powerful though and runs a bit upright. Doesn't look like a great fit for an angle scheme at the next level like they ran at Temple. Is more of a zone guy in the NFL because of his vision and cut back ability. Could fight for a starting job over time, but might be better suited to play the number two role.
