Temple Football Recruiting 2012: National Signing Day Recap

Temple landed the 54th best recruiting class in the country, according to Scout.com's team rankings.

Temple University signed 27 players to letters of intent Wednesday, including 14 from the state of Pennsylvania.

The class will be bolstered by the addition of RB Montrell Dobbs, who was originally headed to UConn but withdrew his commitment after learning that he would not be able to enroll there because of academic issues, according to ESPN. It is unclear if Dobbs will be able to play next season for the Owls, but the former prep star who most recently played at Milford Academy in New Berlin, NY would add a dynamic offensive threat.

Six players from New Jersey were signed to letters of intent, the second highest state total behind Pennsylvania.

Both Rivals.com and Scout.com named Temple their top class from the MAC, and Scout.com ranked the Owls' class 54th overall.

The Owls finished 2011 9-4, including a four game winning streak to end the season.
