Temple will host UMass on Wednesday night with the opportunity to clinch the number one seed in the Atlantic 10 tournament.
The Owls (22-6, 11-3) are coming off of a tough loss to St. Joe's over the weekend, when they fell 82-72 in a Philly showdown. The defeat broke an 11-game winning streak and left Temple with no breathing room in the A-10 standings, with St. Louis just a half game behind them.
On the other side, the Minutemen (19-9, 8-6) will be trying to further their March Madness hopes with a win over the favored No. 25 Owls. To make the NCAA tournament, UMass will most likely have to win the A-10 tourney after faltering down the stretch, losing three of its last four. However, a win tonight followed by a victory over Rhode Island and a deep conference postseason run could result in a bid.
With it being senior night at the Liacouras Center, Temple should be flying high. Ramone Moore, Juan Fernandez, Micheal Eric and Jake Godino will be honored prior to the game.
The Owls need Moore to step up against the Minutemen. He's the conference leader in points per game, but hasn't played up to standards recently, shooting 40 percent or worse in his last three outings.
