The Temple Owls look to extend a five-game winning streak when they visit the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday at 2 p.m.
After losing two of their first three games in the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Owls have rattled off five consecutive victories to move within a half-game of the La Salle Explorers for first place in the league. Temple most recently downed Fordham on Friday at the Liacouras Center. Led by Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt, who pitched in 25 and 24 points, respectively, the Owls jumped to a 35-27 halftime lead and only stretched the margin after intermission.
Rhode Island limped through its first six conference outings, losing all six, but has won two straight -- against Dayton and UMass -- to climb to 2-6 in the standings. The Rams surprised UMass in overtime on Wednesday, 81-78, behind 29 points and 11 rebounds from Orion Outerbridge.
