NCAA Bracket 2012: Temple To Play Cal Or USF In First Round

After landing the No. 5 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Temple Owls will be waiting to find out their first opponent. They will face the winner of the first round play-in game between the California Golden Bears and the South Florida Bulls, who will be Temple's future Big East conference rival. The Owls received an at-large bid from the tournament's selection committee after turning in a 24-7 record during the regular season.

Despite the regular season success and the #1 seed, the Owls stumbled in the Atlantic 10 Tournament with a shock upset at the hands of UMass. It was never going to cost them a tournament bid, but certainly the Owls were looking for more than one and done in their conference tournament. Now, Temple gets to begin its 30th tournament appearance.

Temple finished 13-3 in the A-10 and won 13 out its last 15 games overall.
