2012 NCAA Bracket: Temple Lands In Midwest Region, Could Face Michigan

The Midwest region's #5 seed Temple Owls will have a challenging second round matchup (remember the play in games are now the first round) in either California or South Florida. However, if they do get beyond that game, they'll likely have a tantalizing matchup with the 4th seeded Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan finished the year ranked #14, but CBS' Seth Davis is not a believer. On the selection Sunday show he picked Temple as an upset winner in that possible matchup and therefore a surprise appearance in the Sweet 16. It certainly wouldn't be the first giant Temple has knocked off, they've got three wins over tournament teams this year including a big one over Duke in Philadelphia in early January.

For the matchup to happen, Michigan would have to get by the Mid America Conference champion Ohio Bobcats. The Wolverines are used to an Ohio based rival, just not this one.
