The Temple Owls need a win Saturday to hold off St. Louis for first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference. So far, so good, as they lead the Fordham Rams by a score of 40-30 at halftime.
Although the Rams are converting at a higher clip than the Owls – 50 percent to 45 – the Owls have been able to dominate other facets of the game. Temple is +9 points from beyond the arch, +5 points from the free throw line and +5 in the turnover battle.
Owls guard, Ramon Moore, is the game's leading scorer with 11 points, but Fordham's Chris Gaston (10) and Branden Frazier (9) aren't far behind. Juan Fernandez also has nine points for the Owls. All eight Temple Owls have scored a basket thus far, with four players scoring at least five points. Fordham only has two players with more than five.
