The St. Joe's Hawks will need to overcome a halftime deficit to advance to the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals.
The Hawks trail the St. Bonaventure Bonnies 33-30 at halftime after a tight first 20 minutes.
Daryus Quarles paced the Hawks with 10 points on four of five shooting at the half, but St Bonaventure scored the final six points before intermission to seize the lead.
As expected, Andrew Nicholson, the Atlantic 10 Conference player of the year, caused problems inside for St. Joe's. The 6-foot-, 250-pound power forward concluded the first half with 12 points and five rebounds.
The only way St. Joe's can make the NCAA Tournament is by securing the Atlantic 10 Tournament championship.
