Temple Football Spring Game Recap: Kenny Smith Scores Twice, Cherry Wins

The annual Temple Spring Football game was played at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday morning, with Cherry winning the game by a final of 17-10.

Kenny Smith scored two of the game's three touchdowns. The sophomore running back will be looked upon to step up with Bernard leaving for the NFL. He finished the game with 15 carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Junior quarterback, Chris Coyer, finished the game with 115 yards through the air, including a 43 yard touchdown pass to Ryan Alderman. Coyer completed only six of his 15 pass attempts and was sacked once.

Senior running back, Matt Brown, finished the game with 40 yards on seven carries with a long of 11. At halftime Brown was awarded the Mark Bresani Award for spirit and enthusiasm.

The game was played in front of approximately 2,500 fans.
