Former Temple Owl Aaron Brown will transfer to Southern Mississippi, he told Adam Zagoria of Zags Blog.

The 6-foot-5 guard will have two years of eligibility remaining after being forced to sit out the 2012-13 season. He chose Southern Miss over Wagner and Boston University.

"I think it was the best opportunity for me after sitting out my year," the former St. Benedict's Prep guard told SNY.tv by phone following his visit to Southern Miss. "I want to take the year off to get better physically and skill-wise."

Brown managed to carve a role in Temple's crowded back court last season, averaging 6.4 points in 14.6 minutes while playing behind the talented trio of Juan Fernandez, Khalif Wyatt and Ramone Moore. Not only did Brown produce in his limited minutes, but he did so efficiently, shooting 46.5 from the field and 41.5 percent from beyond the arc.
