The Temple Owls picked up a three-star linebacker recruit for the 2013 class when Jarred Alwan gave a verbal commitment on Thursday (via Philly.com). Alwan (6-2, 230) has played running back, fullback and linebacker from Camden Catholic High School (Cherry Hill, NJ).
Alwan chose the Owls over other offers from Boston College, UMass and West Virginia. After committing to Temple, he cancelled a vist to West Virginia (for highlight videos of Alwan, click here).
Alwan's commitment gives Temple head coach Steve Addazio nine total commits in the 2013 class. Six of the commits in the class have come from the state of New Jersey. Alwan is the second linebacker commitment as Williamstown, New Jersey's Buddy Brown committed to the Owls earlier in the summer. Like Alwan, Brown is a three-star recruit. Alwan will be the third three-star commitment for Temple in the 2013 class.
