Brandon McManus might not have had the most spectacular game of all time, but his consistency as Temple's kicker and punter in the team's 41-10 Mayor's Cup win over Villanova earned him Big East honors this week:
Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib (Off.) Connecticut LB Yawin Smallwood (Def.) and Temple K/P Brandon McManus (ST) are BIG EAST Players of the Week

McManus made his mark in the crosstown rivalry two years ago with a game-winning field goal with under a minute left. No heroics were needed this year in Temple's comfortable victory, but McManus hit both of his field goals, nailed five extra points, and excelled punting the ball, nailing a 61-yarder that pinned the Wildcats all the way back at the two-yard line after a brief return.
Temple fans are used to McManus by this point: the senior is in his fourth year as Temple's primary kicker and his second handling both kicking and punting duties for the Owls. This might not be the last time he earns a reward for his work.
