Despite two consecutive losses, the Villanova Wildcats still received votes in the latest AP Top 25 college basketball rankings. The Wildcats did not garner any votes in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll.

Villanova fell to Saint Louis and Santa Clara in successive outings to finish in 4th place in the 76 Classic. The Wildcats took a nine-point lead against Santa Clara with three minutes remaining in Sunday's game, but surrendered a 10-0 run that ended with the Wildcats' second defeat in three days. Santa Clara's Evan Roquemore hit two free throws with 4.3 seconds to seal Villanova's fate.

Kentucky took over the top spot from North Carolina after the Tar Heels lost for the first time this season. UNLV toppled North Carolina to win the Las Vegas Invitational and leap into No. 18 in the AP poll.
