The Villanova Wildcats visit the St. Joseph's Hawks on Saturday night when the two teams resume Big 5 play in a cross-town rivalry called The Holy War. It will be the first time the two teams have met on the St. Joseph's campus.
St. Joseph's, which received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll for the first time since the 2007-08 season, has won four out of five games, including an 80-71 victory last Saturday against then-No. 19 Creighton. Carl Jones leads the Hawks with 19.4 points per game, and C.J. Aiken leads the nation with 4.8 blocks per game.
Villanova beat Boston University in its last time out, but has not yet secured a quality win. The Wildcats, led by Maalik Wayns' 17.8 points per game, have beaten St. Joseph's six out of the past seven meetings.
