Villanova fans can breathe a bit of a sigh of relief as it was revealed today that big man Mouphtaou Yarou only has a bruised shoulder, not the broken collarbone that was originally feared. He was injured after a fall in the opening game of the Big East tournament and laid on the floor in pain for a bit before leaving the game never to return. Yarou also sustained lacerations to his face and a bruised rib.
↵Yarou will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine whether he can return to practice. At this point, you would have to guess that there's a good chance he could be healthy enough when the tournament begins early next week. That's big news for Nova fans who watch USF start to really dominate the glass in the second half of the game when Yarou wasn't there. His presence inside will be key if Villanova has any hopes of making a run in the tournament.
