Bracketology: Villanova Basketball Still Safe?

Villanova's nightmare end of the season continues to get worse. Not only were they upset in the first round of the Big Tournament last night, but they also have lost big man Mouphtaou Yarou for the rest of the year with a broken collarbone. Yarou's presence was clearly missed in the second half of last night's game and will obviously be a weakness heading into the NCAA tournament.

But wait.. will they even be in the tournament after their fifth straight loss last night? Our SBNation bracketology expert says their position looks safe.

"Despite the loss, Nova's fifth in a row and seventh setback in their last nine, they remain in the field, thanks to seven quality wins, though they are likely to have to pack their dark jerseys for the first weekend. Remember, selection is about a team's body of work. The Wildcats simply have a lot more on their profile than many of the others looking to jump them, even if they aren't closing well."

He projects Villanova as a #9 seed in the East bracket taking on Missouri in the first round. Should they get to the round of 32, they'll have a matchup with the nation's #1 overall Ohio State.
