Villanova Vs. St. John's Final Score: Wildcats Win In Overtime

The Villanova Wildcats improved to 10-10 and 3-5 in the Big East with a 79-76 overtime victory over the St. John's Red Storm today. The Wildcats were able to force overtime on a Maalik Wayns jumper to tie the game with 35 seconds remaining and outlasted the Red Storm in overtime to seal the victory.

Wayns was the Wildcats leading scorer with 28 points on 18 shots, but turned the ball over seven times. Dominc Cheek, James Bell and JayVaughn Pinkston also scored in double figures for the Wildcats. Like Wayns, Pinkston had a game-leading seven turnovers.

Despite shooting 39 percent from the field and turning the ball over 22 times the Wildcats were able to dominate the glass, out-rebounding the Red Storm 46 to 29.

The Wildcats next game is Jan. 25 against the 21st ranked Louisville.
