Looking to snap a three-game losing streak the Villanova Widcats host the DePaul Blue Demons in a Big East Conference game at The Pavilion (Noon on MSG). The Wildcats (7-8, 0-3 Big East) are looking to rebound from their Thursday loss to the visiting South Florida Bulls, who became the second school since 2007 to defeat Villanova on its home court, while the Blue Demons (10-4, 1-1) are looking to build off their Thursday victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers.
On Thursday, junior guard Maalik Wayns scored a team-best 17 points but it wasn't enough as the Wildcats drop their fourth game in five tries. Surprsingly, Villanova's starting lineup featured four freshman players and junior forward Mouphtaou Yarou, who's averaging 12.7 point per game and a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game.
Wayns is pacing all Villanova scores with 17.2 ppg.
Meanwhile, two sophomores, guard Cleveland Melvin (18.9 ppg) and Brandon Young (16.8 ppg), are quickly becoming to stars of the Big East. This will be the first of three consecutive road games for DePaul, which visits the Seton Hall Pirates and the Louisville Cardinals, respectively.
