The Villanova Wildcats were pegged to finish 12th in the Syracuse Post-Standard's annual Big East writers poll released Tuesday morning.
Louisville earned all 15 first-place votes to take the top spot. Here is the official list, with points earned:

The Wildcats went 13-19 overall last season and 4-11 in the Big East.
Villanova returns eight players from last year's squad, including seniors Mouphtaou Yarou and Maurice Sutton, and junior James Bell. JayVaughn Pinkston is one of four sophomores who return to the Wildcats.
Villanova will open its season at home Nov. 9 against the University of District Columbia at 7 p.m. The Wildcats will have five games before they face No. 20 Vanderbilt on the road on Dec. 1.
The Wildcats will get their shot at Louisville at home on Jan. 22.
