NJIT vs Villanova final score: Wildcats defeat Higlanders, 70-60

Villanova won its fifth game in a row on Friday.

Ryan Arcidiacono scored 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field to help Villanova win its fifth game in a row as they defeated NJIT, 70-60, on Friday.

Arcidiacono was 6-of-13 from the field overall including 4-of-11 from three-point territory. Three other Villanova players scored in double-figures as Darrun Hilliard, JayVaughn Pinkston and Maurice Sutton had 12, 10 and 10 points respectively.

Villanova won the game despite shooting just 30.8 percent from the field as a team while allowing the New Jersey Institute of Technology to shoot 38.3 percent. The Wildcats got to the line 33 times and made 25 of their attempts to make up for their lack of efficiency from the field.

Ryan Woods led the Highlanders with 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.

The win was Villanova's fifth in a row as they improved to 9-4 on the season before the start of conference play. The loss dropped the Highlanders to 6-6 on the season.
