The Villanova Wildcats look to bounce back from two consecutive losses on Monday night when they host the struggling Connecticut Huskies at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
The Wildcats fell to Notre Dame 74-70 in overtime on Saturday for their fifth defeat in their last six outings. Villanova put forth a strong effort despite missing starters Maalik Wayns (sprained MCL) and James Bell (sprained left ankle), but allowed a 20-point lead to disintegrate, struggling after Notre Dame applied a zone defense.
Connecticut has also been on a slide, free-falling out of the Top 25 after dropping seven of their last nine. The Huskies fell to Marquette at home on Saturday, 79-64, despite 19 points from Jeremy Lamb. After the game, Shabazz Napier called out his teammates' effort, noting that it looked like the Huskies "gave up" in the final minutes.
