The Villanova Wildcats will try and snap their current three-game losing streak Tuesday, as they host the Providence Friars in a Big East Conference men's basketball game at The Pavilion. The Wildcats (10-3, 3-8 Big East) begin a stretch of four games where three of them are at home, while the Friars (13-11, 2-9) have dropped five of their last six games.
On Sunday, the Wildcats lost at the Pittsburgh Panthers, 79-70. Pittsburgh's guard Travon Woodall netted a game-best 29 points to help the Panthers' overcome an early 21-17, first-half disadvantage.
Villanova's guard Maalik Wayns, who's 'Nova's leading scorer (18.4 points per game), tallied that exact amount, while guard Dominic Cheek chipped in with 13.
Meanwhile, the Friars are trying to rebound from a loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers 87-84, in overtime Sunday.
Senior guard Vincent Council paces Providence in scoring with 16.4 ppg.
