On Wednesday night in The Pavilion, the Villanova Wildcats hope to get going in the Big East with a win against the St. John's Red Storm.
Villanova is off to a decent start at 9-4, having won five in a row including the Holy War over St. Joesph's. That said, the Wildcats have also dropped some games that should've been won, with examples of the LaSalle Explorers and Columbia Lions.
JayVaughn Pinkston has led the WIldcats thus far on the offensive end, averaging 12.2 points per game.
St. John's (8-4) has also been somewhat of an inconsistent squad. The Red Storm were blown out in its only game against a ranked opponent, losing 97-78 to Baylor on Nov. 18. Their best win came 111 days later against the SEC's South Carolina Gamecocks, beating the Southern foe 89-65.
D'Angelo Harrison is St. John's best scorer and one of the most prolific in the country, averaging 20.9 points per game.
